I was thinking of having only three main items.
- Find members
- Community
- About BeWelcome
A first step would be to keep the current menus (even though I don't like them) and put the current "safety" links in "Community".
"Volunteering" is already in the "About" menu, but doesn't have the same label, maybe change the label?
Maybe "Newsletter" and "News" can be moved from "Community" to "About" submenu.
After that a better approach would be to remove the submenus, and instead have this navigation on top of each page.
For example the "Find members" page could have the map on the top, and below the form to find a member by name, and a link to the list of members by country. That page could also have a navigation link for "Public travels" at the top.
Same for "Community" and "About" pages: they should be a portal to this part of the website, with clear navigation. Community portal could include forums, the groups I'm in, and the local events for example.
